Quality Assessment & Performance Improvement
About the QAPI Team
The Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) Team is part of the Department of Health Services – Behavioral Health Division (DHS-BHD). We serve as the central team responsible for quality assurance and quality improvement across the behavioral health system.
Our goal is to ensure that all behavior health services, including mental health (MH) and substance use disorder (SUD) services, are high-quality, effective, and continuously improving for all members.

Support Quality Care: We work to improve the services provided to individuals receiving behavioral health care.

Monitor Key Areas: We track important information like service use, program audits, provider reviews, and beneficiary feedback.

Develop Policies and Training: We create and update policies, procedures, and training materials based on state and federal guidelines, including Behavioral Health Information Notices (BHINs).

Provide Resources: We offer tools and information to help providers, community partners, and beneficiaries improve quality of care.

Sonoma County MHP, DMC-ODS and MOU Partners Quarterly Meetings
The County of Sonoma Quality Assessment and Program Improvement Team monitors and reports on the date and time of MOU partnership meetings. These meetings occur on a quarterly basis to address policy and practical concerns that may arise between MOU parties and achieve shared objectives of service delivery as outlined in each Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
