November 4, 2025, Statewide Special Election*
*This election's original name was "November 4, 2025, Uniform District Election." It changed to "November 4, 2025, Statewide Special Election" in late August. As a result, you may encounter instances where the election is referred to by its old name. However, both names now refer to the exact same election and can be used interchangeably.

Background
On August 21, 2025, Governor Gavin Newsom signed legislation calling a Statewide Special Election to be held on November 4, 2025, so voters can decide whether or not to pass Proposition 50, a legislative constitutional amendment authorizing temporary changes to California's Congressional district maps.
In addition, two local jurisdictions in Sonoma County were already set to have elections on November 4:
- Timber Cove County Water District (District Director)
- Petaluma Joint Union High School District (Measure I - Parcel Tax)
These two smaller elections are being consolidated with the statewide special election.
