Voter Registration Deadline Nears March 2020

Deva Marie Proto, County Clerk-Recorder-Assessor-Registrar of Voters, reminds Sonoma County residents that the last day to register to vote for the March 3, 2020, Presidential Primary Election, is February 18, 2020.

To be eligible to register to vote, one must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old on or before Election Day, and not in prison or on parole for the conviction of a felony.  Any voter who has moved, wishes to change their political party preference, or has changed their name should re-register by the February 18 deadline.  Residents who miss the deadline still have the option to “conditionally” register and vote; please contact the Registrar of Voters Office for further details.

Residents can register online at https://registertovote.ca.gov.  In addition, postage-paid paper forms are available at many public and government offices including city halls, post offices, public libraries, and the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters Office, 435 Fiscal Drive, Santa Rosa.  Completed forms returned by mail must be postmarked by the deadline; forms may also be hand-delivered to the Registrar of Voters Office 24/7 drive-thru drop box.
