Voter Registration Deadline Midnight Tonight

Deva Marie Proto, County Clerk-Recorder-Assessor-Registrar of Voters, reminds Sonoma County residents that the deadline to register to vote in the upcoming March 3, 2020, Presidential Primary Election, is tonight, February 18, 2020 at midnight Pacific Time.  

To be eligible to register to vote in California, one must be a U.S. citizen, a resident of California, at least 18 years old on or before Election Day, and not in prison or on parole for the conviction of a felony.  Any voter who has moved, wishes to change their political party preference, or has changed their name should re-register by midnight Pacific Time tonight.  Residents who miss the deadline still have the option to “conditionally” register and vote; please contact the Registrar of Voters Office for further details.  

Residents can register online at https://registertovote.ca.gov.  In addition, postage-paid paper forms are available at many public and government offices including city halls, post offices, public libraries, and the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters Office, 435 Fiscal Drive, Santa Rosa.  Completed forms will be accepted if electronically submitted or postmarked by February 18, 2020.
