Nomination period for Nov. 4 Uniform District Election extended to Aug. 13

Sonoma County Registrar of Voters Evelyn Mendez announced that candidate nominations for the following special district offices up for election in November have been extended to Wednesday, Aug. 13 because one or more incumbents did not file by the Aug. 8 deadline: 

Public Utility Districts

  • Bodega Bay Public Utility District
    • One 4-year seat for Office #2

Water Districts

  • Sonoma Mountain County Water District
    • Two 4-year seats

Any registered voter other than the incumbent who is interested in running for any of the above seats must file nomination papers at the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters office by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 13. The office is located at 435 Fiscal Drive in Santa Rosa. Due to the extended nomination period, the Registrar of Voters office will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day this week, including Wednesday. Starting next week, the office will revert back to its standard hours:

  • Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
