FEMA’s Disaster Assistance Registration Center to Curtail Days of Operation

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Mobile Registration Intake Center at Maria Carrillo High School will no longer be open on the weekends beginning this week.

Fire survivors from the Walbridge, Meyers, and Glass fires can visit the intake center at 6975 Montecito Boulevard in Santa Rosa to apply for a variety of federal disaster assistance programs from 10am – 6pm, Monday through Friday, through December 16, 2020 which is the deadline for Glass Fire survivors to apply for federal assistance.

FEMA also announced this month that the deadline for Walbridge and Meyers fire survivors to apply for federal assistance has been extended to December  11, 2020.

Individuals affected by the 2020 wildfires may be eligible for federal aid and are encouraged to register with FEMA to determine their eligibility for financial assistance that may include rent, home repair, home replacement, and other serious disaster-related needs such as child care, transportation, medical, or other expenses.

At the intake center, fire survivors can register for federal disaster assistance, check the status of their applications, find information about programs and agencies that can help speed their recovery, receive answers to questions, and determine whether they can still receive assistance if they have insurance.

In addition to visiting the intake center, fire survivors are invited to register with FEMA for federal aid in one of the following ways: online at disasterassistance.gov; by downloading the FEMA app to a smartphone or tablet; or by calling the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362 (TTY 800-462-7585) between 7 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. The helpline staff can also answer questions about applications already submitted.
