Cavedale-Trinity Community are invited to Participate in Evacuation Drill
Santa Rosa,CA | August 19, 2019
On Saturday, August 24, 2019 from 8-10 am, residents of the Cavedale-Trinity community are invited to participate in the County of Sonoma’s first evacuation drill.
The drill is part of a significant effort to increase preparedness across Sonoma County, which includes Sonoma Ready Day on September 8th, additional evacuation planning and drills, emergency alert tests, and tools and tips for residents that will increase their safety in a disaster.
Residents in the area can sign up to receive an alert when the drill begins. Residents will practice evacuating their homes and driving through evacuation routes to the Hanna Boys Center at 17000 Arnold Drive. At the assembly site, the American Red Cross will distribute information and answer questions on disaster preparedness.
The Department of Emergency Management is identifying high priority areas for evacuation planning in unincorporated Sonoma County. High priority areas face a higher threat due to a number of variables, such as thick vegetation and limited access. The Department of Emergency Management will work with neighborhoods to coordinate planning exercises.
Local residents, community groups and the Department of Emergency Management collaborated to make the drill possible.
