individual with wavy hair with a black top Elizabeth Beaty embodies the Swahili principle of Kuumba, which emphasizes creatively enhancing the community to make it more beautiful and beneficial than before. 

Currently serving as the Development & Community Engagement Manager at the local nonprofit organization, The Living Room, Elizabeth is dedicated to easing hardships, fostering stability, and empowering self-reliance among women and children in Sonoma County who face or are at risk of homelessness. Additionally, she contributes to the Sonoma County Gazette, is an active member of Soroptimist International of Santa Rosa, & Co-Creator of PorchFest Sebastopol. 

As an author, public speaker, and advocate for suicide prevention and child abuse awareness, Elizabeth founded Project Whole Child. This innovative program focused on making impactful changes to nurture emotionally resilient children, families, and communities, aiming to prevent, address, and heal trauma effectively. 

Having a background as a children's yoga instructor, Elizabeth has certified numerous individuals in teaching children's yoga and has equipped countless children and families with tools for self-regulation, mindfulness practices, and overall well-being tailored to their developmental stages. 

Throughout her career, Elizabeth has been involved in various community initiatives, including serving on the Sebastopol Union Elementary School District Board, advocating for Parent Voices Sonoma, and supporting Peacetown as the founding Executive Director. She has also played a pivotal role in promoting trauma-informed practices through her work with Sonoma County PACEs Connection and the Gravenstein Health Action Coalition. 

Recognized for her outstanding contributions, Elizabeth was honored as a Sonoma County Hero by the Sonoma County Gazette and as Volunteer of the Year by the Sebastopol Chamber of Commerce in 2022. In 2021, the Sebastopol City Council acknowledged her as a Local Who Makes a Difference for her impactful work in the community. 

Known for her ability to envision positive outcomes and diligently work towards realizing them, Elizabeth thrives on social interactions, live music, outdoor adventures, especially at the beach, and instilling the values of community service in her children.
