Trisha Almond
Appointed to the Commission on the Status of
Women in July 2015, Trisha has served on the Mental Health & Suicide ad hoc
and as a Mentor to the Junior Commissioner Project. She served as Vice Chair in
2016; Officer-at-Large for the 2017/18 term and has served as Chair for the
2018/19, 2019/20, and 2020/21 terms.
Trisha brings to the Commission over thirty years of experience as a trainer in the nonprofit and government sectors, 25 years of event organization and fundraising in the nonprofit sector, and over twenty years working with youth. She currently serves as President and Founder of Guided To Safety and has over 26 years with the US Postal Service, presently serving as a Learning, Development & Diversity Specialist.
Trisha served in the US Navy and US Coast Guard Reserve as an Electronics Technician. She is a disabled Gulf War Veteran, an Alumnus of Petaluma Leadership; 2011 Petaluma Woman of the Year, holds a degree in Electronics and is a Certified Infant Massage Instructor.
Most importantly, Trisha is the very proud mother of two biracial women who have grown to follow in her activist footsteps, paving their own way in the Black Lives Matter movement.
