Joe Rodota Trail Portion Will Be Temporarily Closed to Reestablish Safe and Clean Environment
Beginning Wednesday, May 30, 2018, the County ofSonoma in collaboration with the City of Santa Rosa will temporarily close thesection of the Joe Rodota Trail (JRT) from Roseland Avenue to Dutton Avenue toremove unlawful encampments and reestablish a safe and clean environment forall trail visitors. The public is invited to celebrate the opening and dedication of Andy’s Unity Park at 3399 Moorland Avenue in southwest Santa Rosa from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 2. Russian River Inflatable Rubber Dam Going Up Anglers, Boaters Must Portage Around Dam
The Sonoma County Water Agency (Water Agency) beganinflating its rubber dam on the Russian River near Forestville on Monday, May21, 2018. The rubber dam is a critical component of the Russian River water supplysystem that provides naturally filtered drinking water to more than 600,000residents in portions of Sonoma and Marin counties. A workshop from 6 to 8 p.m. June 7 at the park, 13839 Old Redwood Highway, is the first of several opportunities the public will have to help guide the park’s redevelopment and natural resource management.
