Candidate nominations for offices in seven special districts opened July 14 at 8:00 a.m.. Nominations for most of these offices closed August 8 at 5:00 p.m.. However, nominations for two special district offices were extended until August 13 at 5:00 p.m. because one or more eligible incumbent officeholders did not file.

Below is a list of districts/offices that were up for election this November along with the current status of each district/office.   • Occidental Community Services District
    • Two 4-year seats
      • Two candidates filed
      • Both candidates who filed were eligible incumbents
      • Therefore, the nomination period closed on Aug. 8 at 5:00 p.m.
      • NOT going to election.
  • Bodega Bay Public Utility District
    • One 4-year seat for Office #1
      • One candidate filed
      • The candidate who filed was an eligible incumbent
      • Therefore, nomination period closed on Aug. 8 at 5:00 p.m.

      • No candidates filed

    • Two 4-year seats

      • Both candidates who filed were eligible incumbents
      • Therefore, nomination period closed on Aug. 8 at 5:00 p.m.

      • One candidates filed
      • The candidate who filed was an eligible incumbent

  • Russian River Recreation and Park District

  • Sonoma Mountain County Water District
    • Two 4-year seats
      • No candidates filed
      • Therefore, nomination period was extended to Aug. 13 at 5:00 p.m.

  • Timber Cove County Water District
    • Three 4-year seats
      • Four candidates filed
      • Three candidates who filed were eligible incumbents
      • One candidate was not an eligible incumbent
      • Therefore, nomination period closed on Aug. 8 at 5:00 p.m.
