One of the defining issues of my last few years as Supervisor has been housing and development in the Sonoma Valley. First District constituents recognize the immense need for affordable housing in the Valley, but also express hesitation and concern around plans for larger scale development projects, including the Sonoma Developmental Center (SDC). Here, I want to share my thoughts on the Eldridge Renewal project submitted by Keith Rogal and Grupe Company, the developer selected by the state Department of General Services for the redevelopment of the SDC. Early Notice and Public Review of a Proposed Activity in a 100-Year Floodplain

This is to give notice that Sonoma County (County), California, pursuant to 24 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 58, has determined that the following proposed Project under consideration is located within a 100-year floodplain, and that the County will be identifying and evaluating practicable alternatives to locating the action in the floodplain and the potential impacts on the floodplain from the proposed action, as required by Executive Order 11988, in accordance with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations at 24 CFR 55.20 Subpart C. The Commission will be identifying and evaluating practicable alternatives to locating the action in the floodplain, as well as potential impacts on the floodplain from the proposed action. This is required by Executive Order 11988, in accordance with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations at 24 CFR 55.20 Subpart C Procedures for Making Determinations on Floodplain Management.
